A shorter ride today to Selby. The shorter distance was good both because there were no services along the way and because starting mid-morning wind started to pick up from the Northwest. I continued through agricultural areas with wheat, corn, soy beans and pastures. There seem to be many flies here, even stopping along the way. The advantage of windy conditions are no flies when stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nice shoulder for the rest of the day. Even on the shoulder, some traffic gives me a wide distance in passing. Signs for Selby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Been here a while. I don’t remember stopping here before but in 1992, I came across this same section of road on a trip across the US. On that trip from Mobridge (a little past Selby) to Cottage Grove MN was ~400 miles and four days of cycling. This trip it is ~1100 miles and twenty days of cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n
