Today I crossed into the Mountain Time Zone and also crossed 3000ft of altitude. Each day the time of sunrise has been a few minutes later – mostly because I am riding west but also because days are getting shorter in August. This meant leaving just a little before 7am CDT which will now be 6am MDT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am still riding along the rail lines but some rail traffic might also follow the North Platte River as the trains are not as frequent as the two days previous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always hit and miss when you see “road construction 12 miles” and “milled surface” signs. Fortunately they had already repaved and I had a nice smooth route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sutherland was the largest town I crossed today. Flags are flying in the breeze. I intended to stop but was through town before I expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
