Today I reached Cheyenne, capitol of Wyoming. There is a flood warning for the area – mostly for slow moving storms dumping water in an arid area. I had two instances of thunderstorms and wet riding. It didn’t get much warmer than 60F so no heat to worry about. The wet meant fewer photos today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

View from my hotel this morning. It was still lightly raining but weather radar showed the most intense front with lightning was past. I rode for about 45 minutes before it stopped raining. Today as yesterday was mostly a gradual climb of ~1000ft. Today I started just over 5000ft and finished a little over 6000ft. Winds were from the northeast so a tail\/cross wind. My route followed frontage roads along interstate 80 for the first 32 miles. These were quiet starting out but surprisingly busy the last 10 miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hooray the rain has stopped (for now). I got a second round coming into Cheyenne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rural mailboxes. There aren’t this many residences nearby so some people likely go a few miles from residence to mailbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made one stop after 17 miles at a small store\/gas station. This was 8 miles later and a larger truck stop. From here to the turnoff another 7 miles was busy. The road from there to Cheyenne was also busy with not much shoulder. It started raining again. Lightly at first and then more heavily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I checked the map and then made my way to a hotel on the south side of town. Today was wet and cool but also slightly shorter riding.<\/p>\n\n\n
