Today was a somewhat longer day. Sunrise isn’t until 7:30am so each day I’m getting out a bit later. Also there was a moderate headwind in middle of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a gap between Mountain Home and Boise where almost nobody lives and there also isn’t much in the way of paved roads. I was able to use frontage roads for some of that but was also on shoulder of Interstate 84 for 11 miles. This was also a windy part of the day. At the end I came through Boise and added my 24th state capitol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning I cycled past the motel that didn’t allow bicycles. Not sure why but they had white rabbits in the parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few miles in, I came to the first frontage road. It parallels the interstate but is several miles away. There weren’t many cars or trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sign says cattle guard <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However the cows can walk around it because there are no fences on the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an active train line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few houses and a volunteer fire department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 25 miles my side roads ran out. There was a restaurant\/store\/gas station where I took a short break. After that 11 miles on shoulder of the interstate. There was a head wind and it was sometimes disturbed by trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rest area and a chance to get off the highway <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the interstate I came through Boise from the south. There was a large Micron plant here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made it to the capitol!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this a few miles on the Boise River trail to a motel. A somewhat later arrival but distance, later start and some wind all added up. Nice to get here.<\/p>\n\n\n
