I have arrived in Seattle, the end point for my bicycle trip. I’ll have two days to explore the city and then take an Amtrak train ride via Chicago back to Austin. A week from Monday it will be back at work and a finished with my LOA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I crossed more populated areas. I started on city streets of Tacoma and then had a few bike trails mixed with smaller roads. It was overcast but stayed dry. I had cycled much of the route before but more typically the other direction. There was one larger hill including a steep downhill but most of the route was flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pretend this looks like a partial eclipse. South of me is an area where the eclipse is total and annular with a band outside. The clouds made it uncertain if I would see much but they were just enough to filter out most of the sun but still show this section with a bite taken out. Forecast for Seattle was 80% blocked. This is earlier and less but the clouds hid the rest later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of few agricultural fields I saw, kale I believe. I did see signs for a corn maze, for cut flowers and for a pumpkin patch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second section of trail. This went along railroad tracks so not many cross streets. I stopped for lunch in Tukwila and then went past several large Boeing plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South of Seattle are some container ports, loading cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last few miles brought larger city buildings in view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wharfs downtown and an end to the trip. I found a hotel not too far from the Amtrak station and also downtown. Now time to look around the area.<\/p>\n\n\n
