Burley, to the Snake River
Today was an easy ride and the third day of a sequence to reach the Snake River. I expect somewhat larger towns until Boise, though there may also be a little interstate riding through sparse areas.
I enjoyed my Airbnb trailer. It was next to the Sage Valley Grill and was a comfortable rest. Glad to see this in an otherwise small place of Malta. I left close to 8:30am. I knew the distance would be shorter today and it was slightly warmer. Accidentally forgot my water bottles which host Crystal brought while I was underway (thanks).
Home on the range for one night.
The Raft Valley has irrigated farms and enough grain for both this silo and a large pile beside.
Distances for upcoming places. Declo had population of ~300 and Burley of ~10000 so heading to the big town today. Roads were very quiet starting on a Sunday morning and had a little more traffic close to Burley. It was all flat and smooth.
Sign for Idahome. I didn’t see much in terms of actual railroad…
Windbreak closer to the interstate.
Snake River, already a large waterway here.
Burley airport. Without much difficulty made it to Burley. Waited ~20 minutes for a train to cross, had lunch and found a place to stay. Now sorting out next days to Boise…
