Mountain Home, easy riding
Today was a short easy ride. From here there is a gap until Boise that I plan for tomorrow. I left the Snake River and climbed ~500ft up to this larger town.
Early morning departure as the school buses were out. Past the grain silos and then follow old US 30.
A narrow passage ahead: interstate highway, train and small road all on this side of the river.
Not much in Hammet…
Truck filled with potatoes coming the other way. As I got close to Mountain Home, there was a section with new asphalt that felt almost soft. After that across town to the motel.
I was early at the motel. Talked with the owner who said “no bicycle in the room”. Tried to see if there was a way to carry it in once and carefully set it down. Tried to see if there was an alternate place to lock it. In a storage area but not available until an hour after sunrise. In the end, asking for a refund – and found a different motel. Sad though this is the first motel in five months where I couldn’t bring it in the room.
Otherwise a short ride so chance to find a laundry and get things set for tomorrow.
