Ontario, rest day
A quiet rest day here in Ontario. It wasn’t very windy here. There were a few drops of rain but nothing severe. Tomorrow I expect it to be windy with headwinds but do not have as far to go. The next day will be more climbing and hence nice to not also have headwinds.
I have looked at the route from here to Portland. A rough elevation profile is below. The next exercise will be crossing over to the Columbia River. There are two larger climbs as shown below. The first is to Baker City and a little over 4000ft. The second is that second bump up over Emigrant Pass. From there a long downhill and then following the river. I expect the last miles could be wet once I am through the Cascades. Mornings for initial climbs could be colder though if needed I’ll start a little later.
