Omaha, over the hills
Today started and ended with hills with a good stretch of flat in between. At the start, my route seemed to cross drainages with climbing in between. At the end, Omaha is on the banks of the Missouri River with cross streets that go up and down. In between, I was following both a drainage and railroad tracks. The temperature said not as warm, though it was sunny and humid so felt warm enough.
Once again, out on the road early. The road was quiet and smooth.
Landscape with dips coming up.
At Neota, I crossed I-80 and started southwest along the tracks.
Someone had fun with their display. I’m not sure if there is a message or just random things.
As I neared Council Bluffs, there was a short stretch of trail.
Made it to the last town in Iowa.
More trails here…
Art near the water front.
Pedestrian bridge over the Missouri River and on to Nebraska
Gerald Ford birth site.
Last bit of trail leading to my hotel in Omaha.
The hills and heat/humidity made for a slightly longer day than average. However, still more pleasant than heat from two days ago.
